JULY 2021 – As summer temperatures rise in Kansas City, it’s the perfect time to cool off. Here are nine of our favorite places to swim, float, dive, and relax in the sun—offering options for all ages.

 

SWIMMING IN MISSOURI

Memorial Park Outdoor Water Park | 520 Maurer Parkway, Belton, MO 64012

Memorial Park Water Park guests can enjoy multiple slides, a “lazy river” and fun features for the little swimmers! You can also enjoy relaxing in the sun with their many lounge chairs or under the sunshades. Memorial Park fun

 

Longview Lake Swim Beach | 11101 Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64134

This beach features many amenities, like a sand volleyball court, a covered picnic area, and numerous showers and restrooms. Just off the beach is Rowdy Ribbit’s Inflatable Water Park, where for a small fee, you can jump on trampolines, go down slides, make your way through an obstacle course, and more. On the lake you can cruise on pontoon boats, kayak, canoe, fish, pedal boats, and more. Splash at Longview Lake

SWIMMING IN KANSAS

Lake Olathe Park Beach | 445 S. Ward Cliff Drive, Olathe, KS 66061

At Lake Olathe Park Beach you can jump and splash around in the aqua park, swim, bury your little ones in the sand, and work on your tan. On the water you can also go kayaking, pedal boating, canoeing, paddleboarding, and much more. Explore Lake Olathe

 

Black Bob Bay Pool | 14500 W. 151st St. Olathe, KS 66062

When you visit Black Bob Bay you can enjoy diving boards, a lazy river, baby pool and water slide! Dive in at Black Bob Bay 

 

Tomahawk Ridge Aquatic Center | 11950 Lowell Ave. Overland Park, KS 66213

As one of Kansas City’s largest pool facilities, Tomahawk Ridge Aquatic Center has something for everyone! They offer a zero-depth entry with cooling fountains, inflatable play structure, a 60-foot-long family slide, a curly slide, and a 25-meter lap lane. Jump in at Tomahawk 

 

Young’s Pool | 8421 W 77th St. Overland Park, KS 66204

This is one of the city’s largest swimming pools. They offer a body slide, diving boards, zero depth entry pool with cooling fountains, and a youth pool with spraying water and a whale slide. This pool is heated with plenty of lounging and grassy areas! Slide into Young’s 

 

Shawnee Mission Park Beach | 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee, KS 66219

Named the best KS beach by Money Magazine! Here, you can play sand volleyball, make sandcastles, swim, and plenty more. Shaded concession stands and restroom facilities are available too! SMP Beach Time! 

 

Gardner Aquatic Center | 215 N Center St. Gardner, KS 66030

The Gardner Pool is a great one for the whole family! They offer zero depth entry, an active in-water play area, lazy river, water slides, spray grounds, plus a toddler pool. Catch some rays at Gardner Pool
