ABOUT THE CROSSROADS ARTS DISTRICT
In The Crossroads, once-vacant warehouses now house one of the most concentrated gallery districts in the nation! It’s here that you can truly take in the arts, while restaurants, breweries, and speakeasies round out the neighborhood. You’ll also find small-scale grocers, bakeries, home décor, dentists, pet stores, yoga studios, banks, movie theaters, independent shops, hip coffee shops, and restaurants. Now, look up. Do you see all those people on their balconies? They live here. It’s a neighborhood!
Now home to over 2,000 residents, the Crossroads is a fully-functioning, mixed-use neighborhood. Lofts and condos grace historical buildings with gorgeous downtown views. Experience the perfect blend of industrial exposed brick with touches of contemporary design and finish—or live in a gorgeous glass and concrete building with modern living space.
Centrally located near downtown and Crown Center, The Crossroads is in an area south of I-70 and north of the railroad tracks crossing through Union Station and is bordered by I-35 on the west and Troost Avenue on the east.
Anchored by the strikingly contemporary Kauffman Center, which hosts opera, ballet and concerts, the Crossroads is packed unique and exciting things to do, and fun places to explore. Monthly First Friday events draw big crowds to one of the nation's largest free art crawls with more than 70 shops and galleries staying open late, and food trucks to feed your cravings.
Hop on the KC Streetcar! It passes through the heart of The Crossroads, and can take you up Main Street from Union Station, through the Power & Light Entertainment District, and up to The River Market. Stops in the Crossroads are on 19th & 16th Streets.
