ABOUT KANSAS CITY'S BUSINESS DISTRICT
The downtown area of Kansas City, MO, or the "Business District" is contained within a loop of interstate highways created by I-35 on the west, I-35/I-70 on the north, I-70 on the east, and I-670 on the south side. The Power & Light Entertainment District, the T-Mobile Center, Bartle Hall, and Municipal Auditorium are just a few exciting highlights of downtown. This amazing location allows you to hop on the street car to enjoy everything from The Crossroads, Crown Center, Union Station, River Market, and is soon to be extended all the way to the Country Club Plaza! It's perfectly situated to enjoy all of Kansas City’s cultural elements.
Living in the downtown loop will reward you with city views from high rise condominiums and lofts. On the west side is historic Quality Hill, which is the oldest established residential area in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Here you can view a 200-foot-high bluff which overlooks the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri rivers in the West Bottoms below. Over one-half of the buildings within the present Quality Hill neighborhood were constructed during the decade of the 1880s.
In the downtown area, you'll find buildings with historic character and details, and updated luxury amenities. In Quality Hill, thoughtful redevelopment reflecting the historic charm of the area, has created a wonderful contemporary neighborhood.
