ABOUT THE RIVER MARKET
Discover the vibrant, creative, and diverse community in downtown Kansas City’s urban village! The River Market is a riverfront neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri that comprises the first and oldest incorporated district in Kansas City. The River Market’s boundaries form a wedge shape from the Missouri River south to I-70, and from the Heart of America Bridge on the east, to the Bluffs on the west side.
From lofts to single family homes, and everything in between, living in the River Market gives you an urban feel with a neighborhood vibe. There are condos and lofts that you can make your own, and there are single family contemporary homes for the ultimate urban dwellers.
One of the major attractions to the River Market is the City Market itself. The Farmers’ Market is the largest one in the region, bringing “Farm to Table” right to the heart of the city with fresh produce and goods on Saturday and Sunday. There are also many businesses inside the City Market. Whether a grocery staple, something to take home, something exotic or imported, or that thing you didn’t even know you needed, you can find it here.
Additional area amenities include endless dining and entertainment options, the beautiful Riverfront Heritage Trail, and dog owners love the local dog park, plus you’re a short trip to Bar K! You’ll also enjoy easy highway access, and KC Streetcar running from the River Market to Union Station. This means you have easy transportation with stops near Kansas City hotspots like the Power & Light District, the Crossroads, and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. You can even make the short walk through The Link from Union Station and make it all the way to Crown Center!
